Jean-Bertrand Aristide was overthrown at the end of February with the backing of the U.S., French, and Canadian governments. Everyone from Paul Martin to the Associated Press is in denial, but on-the-ground reports from Haiti indicate repression continues as opposition to the occupation grows.
